A beatitude is a pronouncement of blessing for satisfaction and well- being and also to declare the reality of something, a divine favour. Extra blessings are pronounced on people who do and will share in the Kingdom of God. The Beatitudes are given by Jesus as an ideal example for his disciples, for they are simple values to live by for meekness and mercy are found in every culture of society among the human race. To be blessed is to receive spiritual or material benefits by God to be enjoyed. Jesus pronounced such blessings for those whose lives exhibit and show forth to others certain characteristics and qualities.
